SUMMARY:Navigating New Overtime Rules: Key Changes and Legal Challenges for Staffing Employers
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom American Staffing Association: \nIn April\, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a new regulation (called the “Final Rule”) that significantly increases the level of compensation needed to qualify someone for the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime exemptions for executive\, administrative\, and professional employees.  Effective July 1\, the minimum compensation is $43\,888 annualized\, and effective Jan. 1\, 2025\, the minimum is $58\,656 annualized. The Final Rule also increases the total compensation needed to qualify someone for an overtime exemption under the test for highly compensated employees to $132\,964 per year effective July 1 and to $151\,164 per year effective Jan. 1\, 2025. In addition\, these salary levels will be subject to automatic increases every three years\, beginning July 1\, 2027. \nHowever\, after the Final Rule was issued\, lawsuits were filed seeking to set it aside. One such lawsuit in Texas has already resulted in an injunction against these changes in Texas (but not elsewhere). This webinar will provide an overview of the changes related to staffing businesses and discuss the potential effects of future litigation. \nDuring this webinar\, attendees will learn: \n\nWhat changes are made by the Final Rule under the FLSA and what the schedule of new compensation levels is\nAction steps employers should be taking now and in the next five years\nWhat options exist for compensation of employees who are no longer eligible for exemptions from overtime\nThe accompanying trends under state wage and hour laws\nWhat is happening in the courts\, and whether the new regulations will withstand scrutiny under the changing standards for federal agency authority\n\nRegister here. \n

SUMMARY:Modernizing Your Payroll to Grow Your Business
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom Staffing Industry Analysts: \nToday\, staffing companies face many challenges to grow and be more profitable. The nature of work is changing\, worker preferences are shifting to more flexible schedules and instant access to information\, but traditional payroll solutions aren’t built for scale\, flexibility\, or cross-platform availability. What’s more\, compliance and security needs are increasingly complex and constantly evolving. \nModern payroll solutions provide payroll automation\, mobile access\, and flexibility to help staffing companies stay ahead of these trends without needing to hire more resources. Yet\, research from Zeal shows that most staffing companies are using legacy payroll providers and fewer than 1 in 10 staffing companies offer a mobile experience to their employees. \nJoin this webinar to learn more about how payroll automation and flexibility combined with a mobile worker experience can help you grow your business safely and in compliance. \nRegister here. \n

SUMMARY:The Benefits of Building a National ADR Program: Staying Out of Court and Mitigating Risk
DESCRIPTION:Register for the webinar here \nFrom American Staffing Association: \nAlternative dispute resolution (ADR) can be a critical tool in resolving disputes\, maintaining employee happiness and culture\, and mitigating the risk that comes with being involved in a gig economy or temporary workforce company. But often ADR programs are fragmented\, depend on the location of the neutrals\, and do not focus on scalability and uniformity. \nHaving a national ADR program that uses both mediation and arbitration\, or even a combination of both\, can provide employees with a sense of fairness\, eliminating perceptions of bias. This also can allow employers to focus on their processes and streamline procedures to help eliminate the distractions and reduced productivity that often come with litigation. An ADR program also might help keep your company out of court. Listen to attorneys and ADR professionals discuss these matters and explain how a national ADR program can help you. \nDuring this webinar\, attendees will learn  \n\nWhy using purely regional neutrals and a more fragmented\, non-uniform ADR process can result in employee skepticism and disparate results and can take more time\, money\, and bandwidth than necessary\nWhy a national ADR program can create uniformity and scalability across an organization while giving employees and contractors a better sense of the process and better understanding of why it is fair\nHow to use the different types of ADR by themselves or in conjunction to resolve disputes quickly\, efficiently\, and cost effectively\nHow to set up a national ADR program and what should be included\n\nRegister here. \n
