Comrise’s Recruitment Supervisor, Anna Sese, and Director of Operations, Michael Ferrara, address key questions regarding diversity & inclusion in the workplace and the hiring process.
As a minority-owned and operated business, Comrise staffing services ensure that diversity & inclusion are prevalent to what we do by incorporating this into the workplace, company culture, and hiring process.
74% of the population of Comrise leaders are female, with a number of colleagues and leaders coming from diverse backgrounds.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ: Comrise consists of a solid company culture, following the core values of Be Positive, Be Collaborative, Be Honest & Ethical, and Be The Spark. The culture encourages a collaborative work environment amongst both male and female colleagues. For staffing companies like Comrise, collaboration among leadership and colleagues, as well as candidates and clients, is even more prevalent because it is a reflection of how the organization addresses the needs of customers and employees.
During an interview for the Comrise Women in Leadership white paper, a few members of Comrise’s leadership team shared their insight on the importance of male and female collaboration in the workplace.
According to Anna Sese, Recruitment Supervisor for Comrise, “We essentially have different perspectives from both [male and female colleagues]. The combination of varied views and approaches gives a team more solutions to choose from and the possibility to provide better results.”
Michael Ferrara, Director of Operations for Comrise, also added that “Males and females make up 50% of the population respectively, and for one group to exclude or limit the other is to reduce human potential by 50%. When we all work together, we learn from each other, utilizing our unique perspectives to come up with better ideas and business solutions.”
Comrise is a minority-owned business that excels at attracting diverse talent for their clients. Diversity has been at the foundation of Comrise core values since the company was founded 36 years ago, so it is no wonder that the organization’s hiring process is unique. “Comrise strongly promotes diversity in our workplace. We achieve this by seeking diverse pools of candidates for hire and actively participating in diversity-focused professional organizations,” said Ferrara.
Regarding inclusion in the workplace, “Comrise has educated me well when it comes to being inclusive. Coming from the Philippines, our practices have some differences when it comes to hiring. My leaders were able to show me how to incorporate diversity into the hiring process by learning from their example,” said Sese.
The success of Comrise’s diverse hiring is due to the organization’s strong emphasis on company culture and expertise in the industry. The staffing services company’s local and global clients look towards Comrise to help guide them in the market thanks to their strong local ties and cultural understanding.
