The Great Resignation doesn’t show any signs of stopping, even amid signs a recession may be on the horizon. A new survey by The Conference Board found that 31% of workers are actively looking for a new job.
The survey of over 1,100 mostly professional/office workers found that the labor market remains strong and also that an overwhelming majority (94%) of those who left their company in the past year do not regret their choice. Millennials were most likely to quit their job in the last 12 months — 23% compared to 13% of respondents overall.
Higher pay was the top reason workers quit (22%), followed by flexibility (17%), and career advancement (14%), and job fatigue (11%). Women and Millennials were the groups most likely to quit due to job fatigue. Just under three-quarters (74%) of Millennials say higher pay would influence their decision to stay with their organization, compared to 52% of Gen X and 47% of Baby Boomers.
