Melissa Byington is a veteran in the staffing industry, with a career spanning more 20 years. Most recently, she led the two largest locum tenens staffing companies in the U.S. as an executive with CHG Healthcare.
Her experience in staffing began as a physician recruiter, which lead to future roles as president of the CompHealth locum tenens division, group president at CHG Healthcare, and president of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations.
Throughout her career, Melissa has been responsible for both starting new business lines and scaling existing teams. Those teams have grown to, and maintained, the top two positions in the U.S. physician staffing market, while consistently delivering industry leading results in profitability, employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
Over the years, Melissa has been recognized by publications inside and outside of healthcare. She was named one of Utah Business magazine’s 30 Women to Watch and has been included on Staffing Industry Analyst’s Staffing 100 and Global Power 100 Women in Staffing lists multiple times.
Melissa is a firm believer in customer experience and workplace culture. During her tenure at CHG Helathcare, the company received recognition as one of Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and 100 Best Workplaces for Women. In addition to multiple recognitions for employee engagement and culture, the company was also recognized by Inavero as Best in Staffing and inducted into Training magazine’s Hall of Fame.
Melissa currently serves on the board of trustees for National Crittenton and the administration and finance committee of the Children’s Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
For the past year, Melissa has been spending time with her children, traveling the globe and consulting with staffing organizations outside of healthcare looking to scale.
