ManpowerGroup has committed to connecting 3,000 refugees to employment opportunities with its clients in the United States over three years. The announcement was made at the U.S. Business Summit on Refugees, organized by the Tent Partnership for Refugees.
The United States anticipates welcoming hundreds of thousands of refugees in the near future, including from Afghanistan and Ukraine.
ManpowerGroup will provide these refugees with upskilling and training courses to prepare them for the American job market, as well as to 1:1 coaching that includes tailored professional guidance, as well as hire recruiters with language skills of the predominant refugee communities to be able to support them in their career search.
“Our experience connecting refugees with meaningful work across Europe tells us that finding a job is a critical first step for people to get settled, build relationships and integrate themselves and their families into new communities,” said Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup Chairman and CEO, in a press release. “We believe collective partnership is critical to achieve impact at scale and we are pleased to partner with Tent in mobilizing the business community to improve the lives and livelihoods of millions of refugees. This is how we will create a path to sustainable employment so refugees can rebuild their lives and improve their prospects for a better future.”
