In Ohio, 64% of jobs will require a degree by 2020. To bridge the gap between education and the needs of Ohio companies, Governor John Kasich created the Office of Workforce Transformation. After five years of planning, Kasich has submitted a budget for implementation next year, which currently awaits the state government’s stamp of approval.
By 2020, jobs in Ohio will require special certification or training, though that may not necessarily mean a 4-year degree. According to instructors at Sinclair Community College, for every student that graduates, there are 7 open positions companies need to fill, and 80% of their graduates land a job within a month of graduating.
