More than half (55%) of employers plan to hire recent college grads, according to new data from an Express Employment Professionals-Harris Poll survey. This continues a positive trend over the past few years.
Hiring managers also plan to employ college students (41%) and vocational/career tech grads (37%). Meanwhile, less than one-quarter of hiring managers said they plan to employ high school students (23%), adults with a disability (21%), immigrant workers (19%), retirees (16%), migrant workers (15%), or justice-involved individuals (13%).
The majority of hiring managers (86%) say their company plans to hire full-time workers, which is the highest percentage since the survey began in 2020. The top in-demand departments are general labor (28%), customer service (27%), sales, (27%), and IT/tech support (26%).
