According to a recent Harris Poll on automation in the workplace, the opinion in America is split: 34% believe it will have a positive impact at work, 31% foresee a negative impact, and 35% are unsure/neutral.

Here are some highlights:

  • More than 80% of respondents believe the AI transformation is inevitable.
  • Nearly three-quarters of Americans (72%) believe automation will cause higher unemployment.
  • Almost all (90%) believe that for some tasks, humans are irreplaceable.
  • Most Americans (87%) believe that more training is needed to be successful in this changing work landscape.

As AI implementation continues in various industries, recruiters should regularly check in with clients on the most valuable AI-related skill sets.
