The results are in! Statisticians, with a median annual salary of approximately $80k, rank #1 on CareerCast’s list of best and worst jobs for 2017. The report ranks 200 jobs across sectors and scores them based on growth outlook, income, environmental conditions, and stress.

Rounding out the top five jobs are:

  1. Statisticians
  2. Medical Services Manager
  3. Operations Research Analyst
  4. Information Security Analyst
  5. Data Scientist

The jobs that came in dead last are:

  1. Pest Control Worker
  2. Enlisted Military Personnel
  3. Logger
  4. Broadcaster
  5. Newspaper Reporter.
