The US added 148,000 new jobs in December, marking the 87th consecutive month of employment growth, according to the Department of Labor. Wages have also started to see an increase — they rose 2.5% in December. These gains are starting to be felt for the people who need them most, reaching industries that are typically lower paying, such as construction, mining, and manufacturing.

Recruiters, especially those working in light industrial, should make sure their wages remain competitive as the market continues to improve.
