About 85% of employees say their company-provided health insurance is either “very important” or “extremely important,” according to a report by the Employee Benefit Research Institute.

Here are some of the key findings:

  • Benefits satisfaction and job satisfaction show a strong correlation. Those who are “extremely satisfied” with their benefits (59%) also reported high overall job satisfaction.
  • Health insurance is one of the most important factors employees consider when seeking a new job or deciding to stay at a current one.
  • Retirement savings plans and dental or vision benefits rank second and third in preferred employee benefits after health insurance.

Recruiters should note that employers who offer top health benefits attract top talent and gain higher employee satisfaction.
