These Cities Have the Fastest-Aging Workforce

North Port, FL has the largest number of workers over age 55, according to CareerBuilder. The company compiled workforce data from the 100 most-populated cities between 2001–2016. The results show where younger workers hold the most jobs and where many jobs may soon open up due to mass retirement.

  • These cities showed the greatest increase of workers aged 22-34 (Millennials):

Though people are remaining in the workforce longer, aging cities will soon have to attract younger talent to fill vacancies left by retiring workers.
