The job market looks different for workers in different industries, according to new data from ResumeBuilder.com. Of recently hired workers, 70% said they found a job within three months of starting their job search. Only 5% said the job hunt took more than six months.

The averages don’t tell the whole picture, which differs by industry. While more than 8 in 10 workers found a job within three months in food and hospitality (87%), retail (84%), and construction (80%), only 50% of education and 44% of finance workers said the same.

Other key findings:

  • 46% used AI in the job search process
  • 72% applied to 10 or fewer jobs
  • 54% had two to three interviews
  • 66% got multiple job offers
